The Problem

The Wix strip and platform limitations made the portfolio feel less premium and constrained content flexibility.

Project Overview

A UI/UX designer wanted to move her portfolio off Wix because the platform no longer matched her brand and business goals. She needed a cleaner premium experience, better performance, and full ownership of her website.

The Challenge

The existing Wix setup created two core problems: brand perception and workflow friction. The free-plan banner made the website feel less professional, and updating projects was not flexible enough for her working style. She needed a portfolio that felt premium to visitors and a backend that made content updates fast and stress-free.

My Role and Contributions

I handled the complete migration and rebuild. This included rebuilding the public portfolio experience and creating a private content dashboard so she could manage projects herself without relying on a developer for every change.

What I Delivered

  • Full Wix-to-custom migration - moved the portfolio to a custom-coded website for stronger branding control and long-term flexibility
  • Improved visitor experience - cleaner layout, faster interactions, and a more premium overall feel across devices
  • Self-serve content dashboard - she can add, edit, and delete projects anytime without technical help
  • Draft workflow support - she can prepare and refine projects privately before making them live
  • Future-ready platform - built so new sections and content updates can scale with her career and client work

Outcomes

The new portfolio now reflects her design quality and personal brand much better than the previous setup. She has full control over her content, publishes updates faster, and no longer depends on platform constraints to present her work professionally.
